Position: Sales Representative.  We have multiple positions across Ohio.

Purpose:  We are looking for individuals with at least 2 years of sales experience in distribution, ideally in the industrial PVF field.  

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

Analyze assigned territory for new Customers and markets, and established Customers and market trends.

Perform functions of sales representatives regarding the maintenance of Customer files, pursuit of sales orders, expediting duties, gathering market intelligence and following up on price bids.

Perform prospecting, cold calling, and onboarding of new accounts.

Perform existing account penetration with additional products and services. 

Quickly build rapport, develop relationships, and establish credability with customers, associates, and vendors.

Demonstrate product specifications to Customer at Customer’s location.

Establish excellent rapport with Customers in assigned territory and attain Customer confidence and relationships that increase job quotes and sales of our products.

Conduct sales forecasts, seminars, demonstration of product specifications, and other requests by Pipe Valves associates and Customers, as needed.

Research and develop information on new construction projects.

Work with management regarding Customer account information, delivery times, and Customer feedback on products and services.

Handle Customer concerns, complaints, and corrective actions concerning Pipe Valves’ products, services, and personnel.

Negotiate with vendors for best product prices.

Handle confidential information relating to product and resale cost and expense items.

Other duties or projects as assigned.

Education, Experience, & Ability Requirements (Any combination that provides knowledge & abilities necessary to perform Essential Duties & Responsibilities will be considered.)

Position: Sales Engineer

Purpose: To provide direct contact and solutions for internal and external Customers in the selling of actuated valves, control valves, instrumentation and controls, steam system products and/or other specialty products. Work with Management and Suppliers to assure that Customer specifications for equipment are met. Assist in operational and administrative duties.

Position: Inside Sales Representative

Duties and Responsibilities (not all inclusive)

  • Respond to incoming Customer inquiries, develop accounts, and generate quotes using Prophet 21 ERP software;
  • Maximize gross margin sales through careful analysis during the quote process;
  • Identify and act on opportunities to increase market share by growing sales;
  • Provide product prices, delivery specifications, payment terms and offer substitute products where appropriate;
  • Assist outside sales and/or management in processing priority transactions;
  • Understand each customer’s business and determine individual requirements and expectations in order to recommend specific products, solutions, and value-added recommendations to increase sales;
  • Enter and maintain purchase orders, customer orders, and trade discounts as needed;
  • Work with internal departments to set up and maintain accurate customer profiles;
  • Maintain and improve quality standards;
  • Establish and maintain customer relationships, communicate with customers and co-workers to provide technical information;
  • Participate in meetings and training opportunities to enhance and maintain business skills and product knowledge;
  • Monitor expected ship dates to ensure timely delivery and expedite as needed;
  • Provide prompt professional responses to internal and external customers, vendor, and branch inquiries;
  • Take reasonable care for the safety and health of yourself and others; report workplace hazards, injuries, or illness immediately;

Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Associate’s Degree in engineering.

Experience: At least one year in a customer service role.
